Episode 5 – A Seriously Long Time Between Drinks

June 20, 2017

Hello! Iz and Ez apologise for their prolonged absence – a year between podcasts is a LONG time to wait. But the good news is that they’re BACK and keen to discuss all the books, TV shows, podcasts and films they’ve been enjoying. This episode is chock-a-block full of all the good things: Ez’s lack of internet at home, why the forbidden is fascinating, bad modern versions of Jane Austen classics, Stan Grant’s Talking to My Country and racism in Australia, and getting old and forgetting people’s names (did Sarah Harper write The Dry? Or was it Jane? And what is that Tasmanian author’s name again, who won that prize thingamy? Someone Flanagan?). Iz has been zoning in on quirky British comedies about metal detectorists and car sharing, much to Ez’s disgust, who prefers her TV shows political but not too dark (ie Veep over House of Cards). But they both loved S-Town and ABC’s War on Waste, so that’s something. Melbourne pals Iz and Ez thank you for forgiving them and tuning in after all this time!
